Life on the water in Sausalito - inspiration for any creative spirit
My home and sometime-studio onboard Stone Soup in Sausalito has many unique surroundings.
Morning View North from Living, Dining areas
Low-tide morning visitors just out the master bedroom window (water level).
Lots of windows and height make for incredible views. Top floor has living and dining areas, gourmet kitchen, entertainment corner and bathroom. Middle level is mostly storage. Water level rooms include 2 bedrooms, office area and bathroom.
This was Shel Silverstein's houseboat, and the tall pointy structure in the background
is known as "The Owl".
Both were originally built in the late 60's and are relatively unchanged. Angel Island in the upper left.
The view southwest - early evening fog creeps over the top of Wolfe Grade and Hwy 101. The Golden Gate Bridge is just 3 minutes beyond the hill.
Container garden on the dock greets all visitors
The unique and original round entry room. . .
A spiral staircase leads from the round room down to the 2 bedrooms on the lowest level (water level)
The round room's main entry door can't be seen from the dock
A hatch door and stairs gets you between the round room (entry area) to the upstairs living areas.
Master Bedroom has water and Mt. Tam view.
Geese with goslings outside the bedroom window
A kingfisher perches on the neighbor's mast watching patiently. Our feathered friend's reward swam by only seconds later and immediately became dinner.
even as you pass by Stone Soup.
houses a mini-gallery.
The upper floor becomes my Open Studios gallery.
The open floorplan of the top level
A daybed at the far end of the living room makes movie-watching really comfy.
