ABOUT THE ARTIST
A California native, Elaine West earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mt. St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles with a specialization in drawing and painting. After a career of nearly 30 years in graphic design Elaine returned to her roots and now enjoys painting in both plein air (open air) and in her Inverness studio. She recently moved to the Inverness Ridge, after 20 years on the water in Sausalito.
Elaine has participated in group shows: the annual Artists of Issaquah Show, the Sausalito Artists' Show, and the recent Glimpse of Nicasio show in West Marin, as well as juried shows with the California Art League, and San Francisco's Studio Gallery, and a solo show in Mill Valley's Depot. Her work has been featured twice in Marin magazine, and in 2016-2017 she was one of the best-selling artists through downtown Sausalito's Toadfish Gallery.
